On the last day of school, May 27th, we once again recognized the fifth grade students who are moving up to middle school.  Each student crossed over a bridge of sorts to symbolically show the move from one level of education to the other.  Mrs. Miller asked students to step forward if they had ever been involved in sports, band, private music lessons, dance, swimming, and other extra curricular activities while in elementary school.  It was obvious to all that these students were very busy.

This year the fifth graders were asked to write what they felt were the most important things they had learned in elementary school.  Eight students were chosen to share what they had written.  “I learned to read, multiply, do long division,” were among the top things noted.  “I learned to get along with others and be respectful,” was also mentioned.

We wish all our fifth graders good luck as they move into middle school.  We will miss their leadership and their friendly faces.
