3rd Graders Get A Visit From 6th graders

Mr. Zinkula’s 6th graders came to the elementary school to share their Iowa History
ABC books with the 3rd graders. They had been studying a unit on Iowa history. In
this unit, they researched famous places and people that had influenced Iowa. The
3rd and 6th graders were partnered up and decided who was going to read the bookthe
6th grader, the 3rd grader, or they could take turns reading each page. 3rd graders
were encouraged to ask questions about the topics they heard. After the 6th graders
left, a few third graders made some comments:
* Lainy Thoren: “I liked my partner’s book because I thought it was interesting”.
* Jayden Bowles: “ I learned that in history, wagons really helped people”.
* Reece Gordon: “ I learned that when men were at war women had to take care of
the farm and animals”.
* Cade Weber: “ I liked my partner’s book and it was nice learning new stuff about
Iowa”.
