Grundy Center Community School District is looking to hire a dynamic Secondary Vocal Music Instructor for the 2024-2025 school year. Candidates must possess or be able to obtain a valid Iowa teaching license with a 5-12 Music endorsement and have a passion to continue to build a robust Vocal Music program.

The mission of the Grundy Center School District is to foster a caring and safe environment for all to connect, learn, and grow. The Grundy Center Community School District participates in the North Iowa Cedar League Conference, has approximately 725 students K-12, and provides 1:1 technology for all students; we are a Capturing Kids Hearts (CKH) school.

ASSISTANT MUSICAL DIRECTOR - GRUNDY CENTER HIGH SCHOOL

JOB DESCRIPTION: The assistant director will assist the head musical director through various elements of preparing and performing musicals each school year.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assist head director in pre-production planning (script selection, script modification, copyright clearances, etc.)
  2. Assist head director in casting
  3. Assist head director in teaching dramatic blocking elements
  4. Assist head director in teaching dramatic line delivery
  5. Assist head director in teaching choreography
  6. Assist head director in teaching vocal performance elements
  7. Assist head director in facilitating stage makeup
  8. Assist head director in set design, costume design, sound design, lighting design, tech design, prop management, and other off-stage elements
  9. Assist head director in community outreach and team building
  10. Assist head director in post-production elements (striking set, IHSMTA application, etc.)

JOB DESCRIPTION: The drama/play director will be responsible for planning, casting, leading, and preparing play productions each school year. They will have access to any and all props/costumes currently housed in the music department

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  2. Cast show
  3. Teach dramatic blocking elements
  4. Teach dramatic line delivery
  5. Facilitate set design, costume design, tech design, prop management, and other off-stage elements

Regular Route Bus Driver

Grundy Center Community School District is currently accepting applications for a regular route Bus Driver. The typical shift is Monday - Friday. Morning Route 6:45 am - 8:05 pm and the afternoon route is 2:45 pm - 4:10 pm. Times are subject to change with late starts and early outs.

A successful candidate will have a valid Iowa CDL License, Class B with airbrake and bus and passenger endorsement.  All job offers are contingent on passing a DOT Physical and pre-employment drug testing.

Pay is $81.52/day.

    Pay for Substitute Activity is $15.50/hour, typically including free admission to the event they drive for.
