Dear Parents,

One holiday has passed and another one is right around the corner! We are looking forward to all of the excitement December brings. On Friday, December 1, your child will be bringing his/her report card home. With the end of the trimester in November, we now begin trimester 2. Also on this day, we will be celebrating our reading achievements from Read-a-Million Minutes by going to see the movie, Wonder. Wonder is our One Community, One Book selection this year. With all of the excitement, please keep a look out for those report cards and feel free to contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions. Did you know we have a great group of paraeducators who help our school in tremendous ways? Paraeducators work with students and help in the classrooms to support learning and work on day to day tasks which help our school run smoothly. Thank you to all of our fabulous paraeducators! In December, I will be visiting with all grade levels about the importance of good bus riding behavior. The discussions will focus on what students can do for themselves to make the everyday bus ride pleasant. Mark your calendars! Last year, we hosted Family Literacy Night, but this year is FAMILY STEAM NIGHT on March 6. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math. It is sure to be a night filled with learning and fun! Thank you to all of the parents of students at G.C. Elementary who attended parent/teacher conferences. We were able to visit with 99.6% of you, and for that, we are grateful! Thank you! Author/illustrator Joseph Kuefler will be visiting us Friday, February 9. We are excited to be part of his book tour! Brian Sammons, Elementary Principal
